There’s nothing nicer on a cold midwinter’s day than a
soothing cup of herbal tea. Why I switch from the traditional tea to herbal
tea?
Besides being a tasty, warming, caffeine-free pick-me-up, herbal tea has lots of wonderful health benefits. From
soothing a troubled tummy to easing insomnia and calming a troubled mind, herbs have
all sorts of healing powers. Drinking herbal tea can also be a great source of amino
acids and minerals and anti-oxidant ingredients.
What is
herbal tea?
Herbal tea isn’t really made from the tea—which is a specific
kind of plant, herbal tea is really just an infusion of
leaves, seeds, roots or bark, extracted in hot water, like the
rooibos tea which is from the leaves of the South African Red Bush
often referred to as red tea or African Red Tea. And the Moyeam tea is the moyeam plant leaves which is more like green tea in taste. There is large amount of herbal form for
choosing.
The
benefits of herbal tea
“In a lot of ways, we might get more benefit from
a good organic herbal tea than from a vitamin pill,” says herbalist
Marianne Beacon of Elderberry Herbals in Peterborough, Ont. " Because
of the natural food state the useful nutrients are easily recognized by the
body - readily bio-available - with much better absorption and utilization of
the use and medicinal nutrients - unlike an isolated extract from a herb which
the body does not recognize as food, and can not be digested or absorbed
properly.
There’s the social element: Tea is something that you can
share with people, and when you’re drinking herbal tea, you get health at the
same time—you can blend different tea reach different goal, and that’s something
you don’t get from a tablet, and only the patient need to have some pills.
How to
choose a herbal tea for a long term drinking to keep health?
You should be carefully getting a better understanding of
the herbal tea: choose something is mild and no harm to stomach, not hot or
cold.
Note:
Usually when I choose the herbal tea, I care much about whether the herbal tea
is good for stomach and spleen or not, for both stomach and spleen are the
basic of our body in Chinese medicine. Image that someone who can’t eat well,
how can he live well.
